Creation Nominated for Best Art Direction Award
Last week The Drum announced the nominations for their annual Creative Out Of Home Awards, and we were delighted to be among those shortlisted in the art direction category. These awards recognise the best and most innovative OOH advertising from around the UK, with the ceremony taking place in November.
The campaign nominated was our ‘Somerset’s Home of the Big Zoo Animals’, created for Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm this year.
This project started in late 2014, when the client briefed us to develop new branding that would emphasise Noah’s Ark’s biggest asset – its big zoo animals.
Taking the name Noah’s Ark as inspiration, we came up with the concept of the animals marching ‘two by two’ across Somerset towards the zoo. Our artwork placed the animals front and centre, surrounded by the Somerset countryside and with the Welsh mountains and Severn Bridge in the background.
This image has been showcased across digital, outdoor and print media in 2015 to promote the zoo to audiences both old and new.
Sammi Luxa, Marketing & Events Manager at Noah’s Ark, was really pleased with the campaign:
This year’s ‘Home of the Big Zoo Animals’ campaign has been a huge success.
The creative is so striking and iconic to our attraction and mission statement that we have adopted it as our permanent brand in everything that we do. This campaign has been used in all our marketing and PR development as the image of Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm. This includes the leaflet, outdoor, print advertising, social media images, banner advertising and throughout the site. We have also used it for some branded merchandise for our gift shop and for a front cover on a book that our director worked on.
We had a great response since the launch of this at Easter 2015 and throughout the Summer months and we will continue to use it in the future years ahead. All the animals that you see in the campaign all live at Noah’s Ark so it is a true representation of what we as an attraction can offer. The team at Creation exceeded expectations of the 2015 creative brief that was given to them, we are very proud of this campaign and its success so far.
We’re really happy that this work has been chosen for the shortlist by The Drum’s judging panel. The class of competition is very strong, but we’re very much looking forward to the awards ceremony in November to see if we can scoop the award!
